Blackberry Simple Syrup

Ok, here’s an easy post for an easy recipe. They’re great for cocktails and sodas, and I’ve used it in both this week!

Blackberry Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. blackberries

  • 1 c. water

  • 1 c. sugar

Preparation:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the blackberries, sugar and water to a boil.

  2. Lower heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes.

  3. Strain blackberries from syrup, and let syrup cool.

Uses:

  • Sparkling cocktail: add 2 tablespoons of syrup in a glass, top with Prosecco.

  • Italian Cream Soda: Fill a glass with ice, add 1/2 cup of club soda, 3 tablespoons of syrup and two tablespoons of half-n-half (or oat milk, for non-dairy)
